Even though the brand was established in 1992, the first car to roll out of the factory took 7 years. The Zonda C12 as it was named, started wind tunnel testing at Dallara’s facility in 1993. The Mercedes Sourced 6.0-liter V12 found its way to the Zonda the following year and eventually the Zonda C12 was finally ready in 1999 after perfecting it through those years.

Pagani cars represent the highest level of precision and attention to detail. One example is the Huayra badge found on the rear bumper. It is made out of a solid block of aluminum and takes 24 hours to complete the process. Customers are presented with the block of aluminum from which the badge has been machined when they take delivery of the car.

Each of the 1400 bolts in the Pagani Huayra is cast from grade-7 Titanium with each individual bolt having the Pagani logo etched into it. At more than $80 apiece, the price of the bolts alone is in excess of $112,000. For that money, you could buy two C8 Corvettes or even a decently specced Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The Pagani Huayra costs around $3 million. Indulge in some of the expensive options and that price could easily go up. Custom paint can cost between $39,000 to $134,000, a 7-piece luggage set is $20,150, premium interior leather is $10,650, custom brake caliper colors are a $5,050 dollar option and the least expensive option is changing the seat belt color which is $1,150.

None of the Zondas that Pagani built from 1999 to 2011 are road legal in the United States. Primarily because they never underwent the proper testing to be US certified. It wasn’t until 2011 that Pagani named two official dealers in the US. Even the Huayra wasn’t road legal until 2014 and that year the US accounted for 40% of the Pagani Huayra’s sale. Later on, Pagani started expanding its operations with multiple dealerships spread across the country.

Presented in 2016, the Pagani Huayra BC was an improved limited-edition version of the already bonkers Huayra. Named after Benny Caiola, the Huayra BC commemorates Pagani’s first-ever customer and was launched after 6 years of his demise.

Pagani Set Multiple Track Records

Both the Zonda Revolucion and the recently launched Huayra BC roadster have held the lap records at Nürburgring and Spa respectively. In 2010, the Pagani Zonda R managed to lap the ring in 6:47 while the Huayra BC roadster set a record of 2:23 around SPA in September 2020.

Pagani Collaborated With Airbus

In 2017, at the European business aviation convention, Airbus introduced the elegant interior for their corporate jet in collaboration with Pagani. The design is known as the Infinito interior with luxurious features like the Sky Ceiling that displays a live view of the sky above the aircraft and displays it on the ceiling of the cabin. The price of the Airbus A390 Neo starts from $99.5 million but buyers would have to pay extra for the Infinito interior.
